PRK Laser Vs Custom Lasik @ 14/07/2005 - Part I

I wish that I could undergo a sight correction since PRK Laser was 1st established in M'sia many years ago. That time, I was still under age as patient has to be at leat age 21 to sign their conscent letter prior the procedure. When I started to work, I did thought of using my year end bonus to undergo this procedure, however, I used up my 1st bonus ( 2002 ) on slimming programmes ( Marie France + Unisence ), 2nd ( 2003 ) on a brand new P4 desktop and digital camera, and the lastest 3rd ( 2004 ) on facial programmes + beauty products. And I shall be getting the 4th end of this year hopefully. Wonder where I got my $ to undergo the Lasik Procedure ? I disposed my shares... : (

Finally, I got my Lasik Procedure done on the same day when I did my consultation. Upon the consulation, Doc advised me to get both my eyes done using either PRK Laser ( RM2K/eye; the oldest method; about 2 weeks healing time; painless during procedure but pain will occurs after the procedure for couples of day ) / Custom Lasik ( RM 3500/eye; latest method; 3-4 days healing time; slight discomfort during the procedure but need not to suffer from pain after the procedure ) only... Reason being is 1st, both my eyes are ralatively small ( just meet the eyeball size to undergo Standard Lasik, 2nd, my both my pupils has huge abbreviation which will end up seing things in glare / with halo effects.

I decided and insist to 1st try the Custom Lasik and will only change to PRK Laser when complication occurs, although its costly compared to PRK Laser. Cause to me, I rather suffer ( feel discomfort ) for 1-2 min than around 2 weeks afters. Unfortunately, I can only work it out on my R eye with Custom Lasik, while my with L eye, my Doc actually tried twice the vacum suction ( which end up causing redness for about a week ) but somehow she decided to switch to PRK Laser instead to prevent against any complication.

Soon after the procedure, my R eye keeps tearing and I can still manage to open up my L eye to peep things. Believe me, get someone to send you home after the procedure as you definately won't able to open up your eyes. I closed my both my eyes in the taxi all the way back ( its discomfort to open your eyes )... : ( As soon as I reach home, I lay on my bed till late nite... and continue to sleep after my light dinner. In the next morning, its so excited that I can see things clearly with my R eye but my L eye... it was relatively bad... : ( I couldn't see any clear images and it is painful + tearing... I went for my R eye check-up after my lunch and I convey my suffer + concern on my L eye to my Doc, and it's a norm she said.

My L eye is suffer for light pain for about 3-4 days, and see thing unclear + double vision + slight longsighted for about 1 week. And, I did my 1st L eye check-up leaving the office earlier... Guess what? My vision is only 6/20... I started to afraid although my Doc again, confirmed that it's a norm and she set my 2nd L eye check-up in 1 month's time... : ( From then, I started to do some searchings + readings on PRK Laser, and it's really seems norm for patient to see close thing better only after 2 weeks but to get the better vision it will need from 1 month's / 3 month's / 6 month's time depends on individual.

It has been 2 weeks over now... and thankfully, I can see some improvement in my L vision as compared to the last 2 weeks. Anyhow, till date, I'm still conducting my self vision test by closing my R eye... Wishing that I can see somemore improvement and finally get to see things clear with my L eye... : (

D' NKVE - Jalan Meru Link Incident @ 10/07/2005

It's not just a tragic to the public... In fact, it was also a tragic to us, each and every staff of SP. We just had our recent GMD Dialog ( and the last session was 8/7/2005 ) where services and products quality was being emphasize strongly in the dialog session where staff in SP really committed into this by putting in our strongest team power. Unfortunately, our nightmare came two(2) days after... the collapse of our very own NKVE - Jalan Meru Link.

But there's one thing that public should know, everyone of us in SP doesn't feel any embarrass but we feel hurt deep down in our heart. It's ain't the matter of our reputation, our share value nor our sales archivements anymore, its all about the public safety ( social responsibility is always 1 of our top most priority ) and the hard work we did since day one till to-date. We lost our hardly and tiredly built "baby" in just a seconds... Although its hurt, we are still here to support each others showing our concern about the investigation process, our concern to staff resides at the site / sales office ( sure they have more than enough pressure lately... ).

Things had happened... We can't seems to change it from faith anyway. I'm glade that we ( SP's staff ) didn't blame / pin-point either internal parties at all but to continuous support them ( ourselves to be more specific ) to gain back those effort that we've put in so far and of course, to futher ensured our quality assurance, our pride all these while.

To every staff of SP... Unleash your Team Power, Strike towards the target, and the Victory is Ours... Kudos Setia-rians !!

Konsert Jahanam @ Bukit Bintang 18/06/2005

It was extremely hot + stuffy nite down at Jln Bukit Bintang that nite where everyone just jumble up all over the place, squeezing each others just for the sick of trying to get into their designated zone based on the redemption tics as if ( but in fact, no one actually border whether you hold any tics or not cause it was too crowded ). Everyone is trying their very best to get closer to projector screen instead of the main stage, its too far for us anyway...

We are proud that we decided to took LRT > Monorail transit to the event. Its just too jam to drive down on this kind of special event. Happened to make it there around 7:45pm ( the event was eventually targeted to starts at 8pm; but only started off at 8:30pm++ ) and it seems that everyone were there much much more earlier to book their strategic place. I'm holding a yellow zone tics, however we couldn't manage to get into the zone and was about 2 meters back from the yellow zone boundary.

LG, one of my colleague who's not tall ( or basically short ) couldn't manage to see the projector at all and she was jumping up n down to peek between a bunch of tall guys in front of her. However, no one was annoyed to her move as everyone there were so friendly. We chat, tabbing each others' shoulder, sharing bubble gums like close friend even we don't know who they are... It was really a "muhibah" nite...

We off around 10:30pm after watching Hacken Lee, Shawn Yue etc's performance. I just couldn't stay for a min longer to wait for Raymond Lam's turn cause some of us were too tired after 3 hrs of standing + short of O2... We again took the Monorial >Star transit to a YC session later in the nite and bye to each other ard 1am... Anyhow, I did have a good sleep that nite due to exhausted.

Dynamic Team Building @ 20/05/2005

I was first very reluctant to attend this training when we ( our dept ) got the schedule for this team building program themed "From Good to Great"... But after 8 around with those who has already attended this training, I turns to become can't hardly wait... cause I was being told that this will be an enjoyable training...

Hence, without much thinking we all hop onto the bus and heading down to Regency Hotel, Port Dickson for this 3D2N course. It was really a fun-filled & enjoyable training... from class room seminar talk to indoor + outdoor workout programmes. We learnt what is dynamic leadership, the power of a dynamic team, how to have a dynamic communication and also the 7 best practices of a world class team during this team building course. Plenty of poster with usefull phrases were passes to us and in fact we gotto memorize most of all these phrases in order to earn enough "belts" ( credits ) for our gradutation ( completion of the course ). And guess what, I'm the Judo Sensei who gotto make sure everyone of us earn enough credits and graduate... But luckily with all our hard work and commitments, all of us does made it... we even exceeded the required credits that strive to excellent and not only as expected.

If I would to choose few of the activities that I enjoy the most... It will for sure the outdoor games which actually playing more on strategic planning on top on principles and the self break-thru session where we need to break-off a wooden piece like those seen in Karatae... As for those phrases... Here's are fews that I like :~ The Art Of Understanding Is Simply To Simplify; The Point Of Power Is In The Present And Future Not The Past; and the main phrase of this course, Change I Must Change First Then Things Begin To Change...

Gua Tempurung Adventure @ 16/04/2005

Gua Tempurung, a place which I've been hearing since the North-South Highway in place. People from all states has been visiting this place of interest... Well, too bad that I only got a chance to visit this place at the right time with this gang of colleagues...

Again, this is an activity organized by SSRC and a total of 30+ staff and family members were joining this adventure. The journey first started with a "open-bathing" of hotspring while we were on our way up to Ipoh for a night stay plus food hunting... And I had my very 1st experience of egg boiling at the hotspring area... Hehe... Pai seh pai seh... ^_^ At night, we walk out from our hotel and heading towards a "food-hunt" session nearby ( we purposely chose the hotel nearer to town area where we can hunt for Ipoh's famous food within walking distance )... Nyek nyek nyek... : P

Our Gua Tempurung adventure begin after a good sleep ( in fact, nobody had cause they are to excited to start the adventure )... It wasn't take adventure during the 1st hour as it was a ready-built walkway with platform for you to follow... and the real adventure begins when you reached the end of the walkway. If you opt to further your adventure here, you have to be prepared to get dirty and wet as you will be walking with your feet in the knee length waterway, bend your body to cross the tunnel like formation of stalagmites and stalactites, crawling on the underground river in order to protect your head ( unless you wear your safety helmet ) etc... and end at the other side of the cave.



Well... Its rather hard to tell what and how's the experience throughout this 3+ hours adventure, basically you just ought to try out yourself but do bare in mind that there is a chance where you may be "crowned" with bat's droppings even you are on the walkway ya... : D And last, we ended our adventure trip by again "makan" at 1 of the famous food court in Ipoh town after visited the Kellis Castle at Batu Gajah, Ipoh. By the time we reached HQ, its already 9:30pm+ at night... Nothing much more but again a tiring day... : )

Padi OWDC Trip @ Tioman Island 31/03/2005

The objective of this trip was actually to get more of our club ( S P Setia Sports & Recreational Club; SSRC ) members to certified as a Open Water Diver. However, dummy like me who can't float and swim well ( even though after a few intensive trainings given by 1 of my colleague; a certified swimming coach... sigh... ) So, I decided to just take it as a leisure trip with lesser $... I'm the Club's Secretary ma... : P

However, with the intention of just to relax myself / take a break down in Tioman Island, I just can't resists the beauty of the ocean when I 1st step my foot on the island and I decided to take the Padi OWC ( Open Water Certification ) course which I decided to drop initially. It suppose to be a 5N4D certification trip where you need to study ( go for classes; reading ), do some assignments plus undergo a few ( shore + boat ) practical dives. But, it turns out to be a 6D5N trip to me cause I need to further polish my buoyancy skill before I can get my certificate ( my instructor hold back his signature coz I can't reach my buoyancy )... Sob sob sob... : (


Anyway, it was really a fun trip though and I had no regret to stay for another day to complete it together with J, my gal buddy who face the same weakness + Alv, who gotto stay back for the sick of taking care both of us... Thanks man... : ) We finally able to get our buoyancy set ( it was easier to reach our buoyancy during the dive after we had changed our BCD to a larger size, probably bacause of the kid size BCD that just couldn't support us well... and we should change that long a go... Sigh... ) and went for a round tour during the last open water dive while polishing the buoyancy skill. Approx. 2.5 ft long baby shark, huge sea cucumbers, beautiful corals... and I just can't hardly wait till the next dive with this wonderful gang of 'Setia Open Water Divers'... ; )
