2008 Year End Review @ 30/12/2008

It’s year end… and it’s also time to review my Y2008 resolutions below before another brand new year:-

1. To buy another property. Anyone got extra $ to loan me / join investment?
   > Booked a studio service apartment in Puchong, but still 15 16 to confirm due to economy crisis.
2. To hunt for a landed shelter so that I can bare a little doggie.
   > I have baby Oscar but not in a landed shelter.
3. To loose body fat / diet with at least 3-5kg lost, don’t be blinded by my petite body size.
   > Failed due to my non-petite appetite.
4. To start a new love relationship with the man that I dream. Yup! Is you… can you hear?
   > Failed and still waiting…
5. To earn / tunnel more $ for my tremendous increasable spending + shopping especially.
   > Tunnel more $ failed but spending increased.
6. To change car. Erm… I like the old generation Toyota Vios, anyone got good jalan?
   > Didn’t manage to change one, no $.
7. To put away my 3-min-heat and fully utilize the 2 months old Osim uZap.
   > Still did not really utilize the 1 yrs+ old Osim uZap.
8. To follow sis Karen’s diet & health management plan consistently.
   > Ongoing but with unchanged + stagnant weight.
9. To go bed earlier at nite, before 12am if possible. I’m not young anymore duh… :’(
   > Failed and even worst now days.
10. To travel at least 2 trips. Redang, Taiwan & Bali are my Y2008 travel options.
    > I visited Redang Island & Bali Island, succeed with $$$ gone.

Moral behind such a long resolution list is... quantity doesn't matters. If you can, you can. =.=

Mamma Mia! The Smash Hit Musical Live @ 27/12/2008

SP sponsored the World No. 1 show, Mamma Mia! The smash hit musical based on the songs of Abba lives in Istana Budaya, Kuala Lumpur in the second half of December 2008 of which SP Group has been receiving tremendous call in asking for free tickets since the 1st press released. However, SP only reserved the first day as corporate night and didn’t offer any free / promotion tickets to public or even to staff. In view of that, me + Algy + Ray & Emily decided and purchased our own Tier 1 tickets cost RM 383 after early bird discount to avoid ticket sold out and disappointment.

Later towards the corporate night, I got a free ticket from management which I have let go to others to avoid “double watch” since I’ve bought the ticket at own expenses. ~$~ Well… Despite than Mamma Mia! is the World No. 1 show, the reason why we bought the tickets without hesitate / wait for last minute corporate night ticket is because it remind us our 1st participation in SP charity musical show, I Have A Dream that mimics this international show. At last, I watched this spectacular show with Algy on 4 seats because Ray forgoes both of his tickets. The show is good except those below expectation props which could because of different production company + venue restriction / constraint. Other than this, it was indeed a hit musical where audiences were singing along throughout the show and dance along at show finale includes me. Mamma Mia! Here I go again. My, my, how can I resist you! Voulez-vous… Ah-ha… ^_^

10 Promises To My Dog 与狗狗的十个承诺 @ 26/12/2008

I finally watched the 10 Promises To My Dog [ 与狗狗的十个承诺 ] DVD ( another movie directed by the Producer of The Quill 导盲犬小Q – Katsuhide Motoki 本木克英 ) that Sis Winnie managed to bought after I told her to look for it when I saw the related post in my colleague, Daphne’s blog. It was a real heart touching movie that made my tear drops uncontrollable + heavily especially during the part where Socks, the Golden Retriever main actor gets old, couldn’t walk, couldn’t wake up, struggling hard to wait till she sees her master for one last time and passed away... T.T All in all, this movie really touches the heart of dog lovers with its story line that really brought up what is happening around us in real life and reminds dog owners about their responsibilities from a dog’s angle. Having seen the movie, I hope I can do better and kept my promises to my baby boy till the end of its life journey.

Baby Oscar 1st Visit To Veterinary @ 26/12/2008

I brought my baby boy for his 1st visit to veterinary with me on this date for red yeast test because I worry that it could be red yeast infected having see his over paws licking behavior. I briefed the veteran, Doc Sylvia about my baby boy’s suspicious symptom and brought him into the examination room. Doc Sylvia scratched some tissue from my baby boy ear, tummy + paw and carefully examines specimen gathered under the microscope. According to findings, Oscar is slightly infected with bacteria that could be due to some food allergy. I told Doc Sylvia what I’ve been feeding my baby boy and she advised to stop feeding Oscar protein / soy bean base thingy + cut down / stop milk base treats etc of which, I decided and stop feeding my baby boy his favorite nutrition health drink – Herbalife.

Besides that, what I worry the most is… Oscar have to go for X-ray and may be a surgery. This is because Doc Sylvia found his knees were not in proper alignment which may turn into worst in later age that both his knees couldn’t support his growing size + caused walking difficulty. Well~ I’m still monitoring + thinking through as I’m doubt to make a decision having see Oscar happily running here and there + jumping up and down at home with no sign of knees problem. Haiz… : |

Seasons Gathering With Buddies @ 24/12/2008

It has been half a year since I last gathered with this bunch of buddies ( colleague + ex-colleagues ) and we finally managed to meet up during this meaningful seasons greeting. Though we were all late for the date, but we were glad to catch up with each other and enjoyed our X’mas Eve gathering with a warmth dinner at Pasta de Gohan, Sumway Pyramid + X’mas countdown at Sunway Pyramid itself. It was really crowded with a lot of people outside the shopping mall with plenty of snow spraying from people around as if no economy downturn. All the restaurants were full house and we only able to found a limited “safe” area ( from being sprayed ) to continue our chat while waiting for the countdown to X’mas. Soon after the countdown, we went for another yum cha + ladies talk session at Station 1, Bandar Puchong Jaya till late nite before we called off the gathering. Glad to know that all of us are still the same, busy at work and doing fine in good health. Take care till we meet again. : )

Fanciful X’mas Party At Setia Eco Park @ 13/12/2008

Canopy Club held its pre-Christmas party lately which was overall a success. I wasn’t feeling feel on that day but I still attended the party to help out my departmental colleagues though most of the job were executed as planned during my long medical leave. Nevertheless, it was joyful to see lots of gifts arranged on table + children had fun with Santa walkabout, admired the colorful Christmas tree and enjoyed the program.

SPSB Annual Dinner ’08 @ 6/12/2008

“And… the Oscar goes to... the winner is……"

Time flies, it’s SP annual dinner again and this year our annual dinner is themed Setia Oscar Night. Unlike last year, this year we were all given the chance to choose our own outfit that matched the selected generic group color which is the usual classy black + gold accessories since my division is on its own after opted out from the past grouping with Setia Alam. Although we have lost the best dress award to Setia Alam after we parted from them but we were happy and no regret with what we have at reasonable expenses after get to know Setia Alam staff ought to spent at least RM 150 ( after 50% subsidy ) to tailor made their outfit. Well~ Mine is not much cheaper though because I have spent nearly RM 400 for my outfit + hair dressing for the dinner. However, I’m still happy with my spending since I’m able to choose the dinner dress that I like and not tailor made costume which is not recyclable most of the time. : )

Baby Oscar’s 1st Maltese Gathering At Fluff @ 29/11/2008

I sent my baby boy to its 1st Maltese Gathering organized at Fluff, Niu Zhe Xui ( NZX ) Ara Damansara after I finished my voluntary work for SSRC Annual Inter-Division Badminton Tournament recently. I wore Oscar the newly bought bluish Hawaiian shirt and brought him to Fluff together with some sponge cake + jelly that I bought at last minute. We reached Fluff late and Oscar missed the fun playing Pinata but it still managed to make some friends + play around with other Maltese who still staying around and Oscar was happy and enjoyed socialize with other doggie friends. Doggies attended the gathering were so clever + well-trained with all sorts of tricks like stand, turn, circle, difficult figure 8, “gong xi gong xi” etc that I wonder how and when I will have the patient + time to train my boy to be as smart as one of them. =.=” But one thing for sure is that I will bring my boy to its future gathering if there is one and if time is feasible.

SSRC Inter-Div Badminton Tournament ’08 @ 29/11/2008

It’s the SSRC Annual Inter-Division Badminton Tournament again and this year we have lesser team participation with earlier end time. I reached the venue ( Setia Badminton Academy, Setia Alam ) after the tournament started to helped out the coordination work as well as the F&B arrangement as usual. Overall, the tournament was a smooth one despite than the late commencement time due to waiting time spent on late reporting player.

Hm… though it’s an annual activity but the feeling is kind of strange this time, probably because this is the last activity before the current BOC dispersed for next AGM… =.=

My Course Mate, Kevin’s Wedding @ 22/11/2008

Attended to my course mate a.k.a monitor, Kevin’s wedding today at Spring Garden Chinese Restaurant, Tropicana Golf & Country Resort and gathered with a bunch of course mates at the same time. It was quite a long time since the last gathering we had and we enjoyed the time to catch up with each other while celebrating Kevin’s wedding. Glad to meet up and thanks to Mich for the car pool… ; )

And… To dear Kevin & Rachel, may your marriage blessed with happiness till the end of road together as one. : )

Kent (BAT) Party At Maison, KL @ 21/11/2008

Joint my S&M colleagues to an invited event recently, the Kent Party held at Maison, KL which crowned itself as the home to the masks and portal to the divine. Eh… it was a tobacco event that promotes the latest invented “flavour” by Kent as how the event was named where we drank + dance and enjoyed the night out despite than the smoky environment in the house.

The heritage façade of Maison captures the essence and beauty of art in its entire splendor with exquisite contrast of textural highs and lows, masculine and feminine, hard and soft. Maison carved out various nights + themes within that open its doors to a wide spectrum of people to come together as one from socializing Courtyard, shamelessly pop Jukebox, revolution hip hop & soul Urban Republic, twisted side of house music Twitsted, hip hop + R&B Super Saturday, music in all its beauty House to Garcon Sunday where there is definitely one that suits each individual.

My Colleague, Val’s Wedding @ 9/11/2008

I attended to my colleague, Valerie’s wedding dinner hosted at the Oversea Restaurant, Jaya One PJ on this date which was also my 1st visit to Jaya One Center. Surprisingly, this venue is out of my expectation and it seems to be a vibrant place to hang out. There are quite some famous hang out spots operates here such as, OldTown Kopitiam, Halo Café, western dining restaurants, pubs etc where me & Sennie almost wanted to have another beer session after the wedding dinner if not because we were too tired and too late for us since we both have to work the next day. Anyway, we believe we will be back and pay a separate visit some other day just to explore this new hang out spot. Back to the wedding dinner, we enjoyed the good food hosted by the couple although we were late and only reached the venue after both of them marched in + the first dish is served. Anyhow, I’m real sorry that I’m was late due to work duty and chaos created by my baby boy. : (

My Baby Boy’s 1st Tooth Drops @ 8/11/2008

Today, a tooth was dropped off from my baby boy’s mouth whilst I was cleaning up my boy’s teeth after his meal as usual. I was shocked and panicked till nearly tearing, thinking that it was accidentally caused by me due to my harshness. I then quickly sms-ed my friend, Elv ( Oscar’s little sibling, Summer’s handler ) to confirm what has gone wrong and what should I do to comfort my boy. Beyond my thought, it wasn’t my fault and that was because of my boy teeth changing. Phew~ I don’t even know that dog does change their teeth like human being too duh… So pai seh…=.=” Elv also advised me to buy more chewable treat + raw chicken wings tip / chicken neck especially as calcium intake for my boy to help his teeth grow faster, stronger and healthier. I then captured my boy’s dropped tooth after the blog urge came into my mind.

Deeparaya Luncheon ’08 @ 6/11/2008

This year, SP Central Region organized the staff Deeparaya Luncheon at the new Setia Alam Welcome Center for the first time. As usual, the function started off with speech given by Top Management followed by cultural Malay + Indian opening dance performance from our colleagues before we move our feet to outdoor, grab the food and fill up our stomach. Although food offered this year is better and more varieties compared to last year, but there were also more people attended the function simply because majority of SP Corporate HQ staff has moved to Setia Corporate Tower in Setia Eco Park & Setia Support Center in Setia Alam early of the year. Due to that, we split our forces to queue for food and grab as much food as possible at once for the sharing of 10 on a table when the makan time started.

Well… despite than the nearly congested function hall during Top Management’s speech + cultural dance session and long queue buffet line, it was indeed a merrier luncheon for all in Central Region. ^_^

So Called Model… Againn… @ 6/11/2008

Nope… That isn’t a typo error in the post’s title. The title was named as such because this is my 2nd “again” being asked for a favor to be a so called model / talent and this time is for one of our tenant in Green Canopy, a hair beauty garden that’s operates by an Iranian lady in her 50’s but having her look in late 30’s. Em… the photos taken are to be chosen and edited into buntings / flyers to help promote the outlet. Hence, you may see me “hanging” along the NKVE - Setia Alam Interchange / “flying” around Setia Eco Park & Setia Alam one day ( if I'm chosen ) and this is one of the photos taken for the above objective by my colleague, Martin during the photograph session. : )

SSRC 4D3N Bali Extravaganza Trip @ 31/10/2008 ~ 3/11/2008

Another part of my 1/10 New Year resolution is realized… Yup! I finally visited Bali Island with a bunch of colleagues on these date. It was the annual SP Sports & Recreational Club outbound trip that we ( SSRC Committees ) have planned to go in the month of August but postponed till end of Oct due to AA Flights Fare matters.

Day 1
We arrived at Ngurah Rai International Airport, Denpasar about lunch time and had a Balinese lunch before we visited to our 1st tourist spot, Uluwatu Temple. The temple is perched on a cliff of a rocky hill located at the southernmost part of Bali and surrounded by trees + bushes occupied by tamed army of aggressive monkeys where these monkeys will tail and snatch the visitors for their cap / camera / glasses etc. I have few colleagues got snatched their glasses, camera pouch + toggle earring, luckily non of them were hurt except the lost of their mini belongings and sudden terrified. Then, we were coached to the famous Jimbaran Beach to admire the beautiful sunset and had a group romantic seafood barbeque dinner before we checked in our hotel, Kuta Lagoon Resort, Legian.

Day 2
We started our 2nd day watching an artistic blessing Barong Dance performance at the Batubulan Village followed by a visit to Celuk Village to see the proactive + innovative gold and silver crafting by local residents. Then, we continued our Kintamani Tour to experience the breathtaking panorama view of an active volcano in Mount Batur and Lake Batur which at the same time had our Balinese buffet lunch at one of the restaurant up on the cool breezing hill. We then visited the Goa Gajah ( Elephant Cave ), an ancient omission in the form of a cave with the high value of art and history where we can also find some other omissions like ancient stone idol, douche and mini temple. We omitted the later visit to Tampak Siring ( Holy Spring Water Temple ) which local residents believed the clear + clean and holy water in the temple could cure diseases due to heavy rain. However, we managed to catch a more meaningful prayer ceremony where local residents dressed in their traditional costume, walked all the way to the temple from one to another end of the street to show the merciful God their inner sincerity whilst we were traveled to our dinner.

Day 3
On the 3rd day, we visited Tanah Lot, a Balinese Hindu Temple on the rock where the seawater encircles it when the sea water is tide as if it is adrift on the ocean. We also took our time shopped for souvenirs at the flee market along Tanah Lot entrance path before we were traveled to Ubud Village for Balinese lunch. We were then coached to Taman Ayun Temple located in Mengwi Village, North of Denpasar, which is the Royal Temple of Mengwi Empire that owns beautiful temple building with multistoried roof in Balinese Architecture. After that, we were traveled to a local souvenir shop, Lulu Bali as our last stop / call to hunt for souvenirs before head for dinner and back to hotel. Later at night, Sennie + Ray + myself had our supper and enjoyed ourselves at the Hard Rock Café, Kuta with good time on beer + live band. But... what’s more excited or rather shocked is when we saw a group of nearly 20 young + fit + fully naked men ran towards our direction and went off into a club behind the street whilst we were inside a cab on our way back to hotel after the rock session. Wow~

Day 4
Sennie & I started off our last day in Bali with a traditional Balinese Spa Massage together at the resort after our breakfast which turned out to be kind of awkward when both of us had our massage next to next without a separating curtain in a room and had our spa ( milk bath ) session together in the open air twin sharing bathtub although we are of the same gender. =.= We then checked out the resort after the so-so massage + a good shower, and head to Mama’s, the Germany Restaurant that we patronized almost every night in Bali for a sumptuous Germany Grill Pork’s Knuckle lunch together with Ray before we went for Legian – Kuta walk. We walked along the Legian Street, passed by the Bali Bombed Area + Bali Bombing Monument and went all the way down to Kuta Street. We stopped over at Starbucks Kuta, had our favorite Starbucks shot, went to the Hard Rock Shop, saw the endless of Kuta Surf Beach + patronized the not forgotten I’m Lovin It in Kuta, Bali before we met with the others back at the resort and transferred to the airport for return departure.

Well~ This is how our trip ended and there goes our holidays. However, the most important is, our memory stays… Thanks to this bunch of active + funny + happy go lucky + shopaholic colleagues of mine who has made this a successful extravaganza trip.

P/S:- To those who intended / plan to visit Bali Island in near future, do beware of monkeys and be extra caution + alert when you exchange your money at any of the local money changer before you were cheated because Sennie, myself + another few colleagues of mine had a bad experience on this.

An Ecard From My Buddy Colleague, AT @ 30/10/2008

I received an ecard with grateful message from my buddy colleague, AT few days ago pertaining to one of my earlier post. It was a heart touching message and I guess the only thing I can say is, that’s what friends are for… We may not see each other often but we knew we are here for each other, we may not even talk when we sat next to each other but we won’t feel odd / bad, we may be geographically distance but we are close deep down in our heart. Friendship, is just too difficult to describe, measure and justify in words...
...... except to treasure.

Primary Mates Lunch Gathering @ 26/10/2008

Gathered with my fellow primary mates at OldTown Kopitiam, Ampang Waterfront on this date which was earlier set by Junfwu during Mabel’s wedding dinner last weekend. However, the person who fixed the meet up has totally forgotten what he have said and flown the rest airplane only when Frendy gave him a call for not seeing his shadow. =.= There were only 6 of us, Kyley & Frendy + Ivan + Chuancheak + William attended the lunch gathering at the end. We had our fun time recalling our long lost primary mates + old primary school days and also enjoyed our chat session updates from past to work, from cars to holiday for nearly 4 hrs. Well… I wouldn’t know when will be our next meet up / gathering, I pray that we are able to bond back our friendship with more to come and more to join. Till we meet again, keep in touch and take care, my dear mates… : )

Addicted To Love 都市恋人的追逐 @ 22/10/2008

After many years for not seeing my friend Aileng on local TV box, we finally got her back in a 30 episodes mandarin series commenced today starring Phyllis Quek 郭妃丽, Brenda Chiah 谢雯惠, Ong AiLeng 王爱玲 & Eunice Ng 黄譞娴. The series is about 4 successful career women who are cautious with love namely Xu Anqi, Angel ( Phyllis ), Yang Meixue, Michelle ( Eunice ), Song Lina, Leila ( AiLeng ), and Tang Caini, Cherry ( Brenda ) respectively. Although the series has been projected as the local version of a popular show in NYC by some others, but I’m still interested + anxious to see how these four charming ladies woo their men in the show because I felt this is more familiar and surrounding to us.

Mamma Mia! Deeparaya At Setia Eco Park @ 19/10/2008

In conjunction to Hari Raya Puasa and the upcoming Deepavali festive season, Canopy Club organized an outdoor Deeparaya Celebration Party together with the indoor Mamma Mia! The Smash Hit Musical Sneak Preview at Eco Tower the same day. Reason both residents + invited guests event were held together is because we wanted to let our residents get in touch with Mamma Mia! Casts and at the same time, brings in a bigger crowd to Sales Gallery for the official preview of our latest prime bungalow product Hill / Lake Side Villa’s marketing video which we priced the product to sell at approximate RM 5mil onward. =.="

Overall, the event was a success as attendees responded good to the appearance of the Mamma Mia! Casts, stage snippet preview, customized Deeparaya program such as kompang welcoming + traditional Malay & Indian dance, live band performance and the high energy lucky draw that gives out 2 free tickets each to the Mamma Mia! The Musical Live of course. Nanana… if you wonder if staff gets any free ticket, it is so sorry that we don’t. : ( Pity us ought to buy on our own expenses… Sob sob sob… ~$$~
