X’mas Celebration ’12 @ 24/12/2012

Hm… Didn’t managed to have any Christmas Eve’s buffet this year, instead, I headed to meet sweetie SH for an eve karaoke session at Neway, Subang. Err~ I was very late the night, didn’t really able to sing any because I went to the wrong Neway outlet at SS2, PJ at the first place. Luckily, sweetie SH had reserved some buffet food for me to feed my grunting stomach.

We then, went to W.I.P, BSC Bangsar later, just to catch the Christmas countdown. It was the most happening outlet as compared to La Bodega / Chinoz on the same row where, we thought it could be all youngsters at first. But, it turns out the opposite where most, almost all the crowd were of the mid ages except both sweetie SH & myself who is still in our 20’s... : P We enjoyed the night with our all-time favorite Sangria, Margarita cocktail plus Hawaiian Chicken Ham Pizza as supper to end our Christmas Eve.

This was actually my 2nd visit to BSC since the last with someone 1.5 years ago of which, it recalled some of my down the heart memories with someone. Aside, I finally received a WhatsApp Christmas wish from a recognised mobile, someone that I have been missing for long, Merry X’mas to you too, darling… : (

We had our Christmas buffet at the gang’s favorite Swez Brasserie, Eastin Hotel the next day afternoon. The ambiance was much below our expectation though we have anticipated that, there will be differences as compared to eve day. Despite than the less merry environment, we still had an enjoyable makan gathering session with belated X’mas gift exchanged. Here are my received gifts:

The Body Shop Hand Cream from Kelly

Baskin Robbins X’mas Ice Cream Cone from SH

What If I Die Tomorrow? @ 21/12/2012

What if Mayan Theory is true and I die… tomorrow?

Ya~ I’ve been seriously considered this question since a month ago when doomsday gets nearer and nearer. I reflected my past and recalled some of the circumstances that I have been thru over the years. If I really die tomorrow, here are my few notes to stay:

  • My only last thank is for all my buddies and friends who walk passed my life before, thank to the friendship and support that you guys has given to me.
  • My only last wish is for my family, I wish they can have a good health and good life. And of course, they can equally share my estate ( if any ) given the term that, to take care of my baby Oscar until it crosses the rainbow bridge.
  • My only last regret till date, was the too soon decision that I had made back in end of Oct ’10, partly because someone not being insists on me perhaps.
  • My only last word is for someone, my dear darling… It was a heartache but it wasn’t a regret… Love you~ <3

Would you and you all be satisfied?

Cold War

Watched [ Cold War 寒战 ] with my buddies, SH + Jess + Nixon & Melvin at GCS 1U last weekend. It was claimed to be the best and most anticipated police thriller movie in Hong Kong for the past 10 years, starring Aaron Kwok

The story plot begun with Hong Kong, the Asia’s safest city is about to be tested when EU71, a police van that full loaded with some most advanced equipment and its five officers disappears at nowhere out of sudden. Due to urgency, the acting highest Commissioner has declared and launched a rescue operation, code named Cold War to tackle the safety of hostages and retain the reputation of police force. There, it started off the cat-mouse chasing game between the hijackers and the highest levels of police management whereby, the hijackers possessed direct knowledge of confidential police procedures. It then, caused conflicts between both Deputy Commissioner of Administrative, Sean KF Lau ( Aaron Kwok ) and Deputy Commissioner of Operations, Waise M.B. Lee ( Tony Leung ) in said rescue operation where, none of them aware that they were actually being put into a stratagem that decides who will climb to the top when the Commissioner step down in near future.

Cold War brought out the power of struggles, corruption and inner workings of Hong Kong’s police force. Overall good, but I felt the movie was a little too many yet fast-paced plots that compact together until it has to rush the ending with a simple straightforward climax and unanswered questions that give leeway to further the storyline in future.

SPSB Charity Dinner ’12 @ 3/11/2012

I was being called for the annual SP Charity Dinner duty at our very own and brand new Setia Convention Center, Setia Alam last Saturday. As usual, we have to report at the event venue much earlier for task briefing, familiarize ourselves, identify our positioning and get ready to welcome / usher our donors. We lined up in line to welcome our guests when the clock ticked, where our kind hearted donors came one after another despite that it was heavy rain. The event started about an hour later than the schedule time due to the guest of honor’s flight delayed. As a result, all the ladies feet were strained and a seat is badly needed upon the arrival of the invited guest of honor. Me and few of my colleagues then immediately went to the staff dining venue to rest our legs and fed our grunting stomach. After dinner, we joined our donors and enjoyed the main program of the night, our very own in-house musical production as usual, themed “3+1 Kawan Setia” for this year. The floor learnt that SPSF ( SP Setia Foundation ) has successfully raised RM8.1mil, the highest amount collected todate. As for the musical, it was surely a successful show given the credit that 2 of the main characters are from SSR ( Setia Sky Residences ) Project, KL.

Good show, Ann ( MoiTeng ) & Diyana ( Tembam )...!

Cried In Dream @ 4/11/2012

I went down to Melaka again for another round of chicken rice ball with my buddies, Nixon + Jess + NL last weekend with an overnight stay. There is nothing much to blog about since it is just again, another cari makan trip. What shocked me was, my sudden cried out loud in dream the particular night while sleeping next to Jess, where Jess & Nixon were poorly awakened by my crying voices. I can’t clearly remember how the dream was and what is the reason that I cried in dream, all that I can only recalled was, the dream contents my late father and someone… : (

========
Crying in dreams is a typical symbolic that associates with the release of emotional pain & grief. It is also psychologically, an image for the liberation of psychological pressure or pain, or spiritually, represents the mourning over a personal loss. In general, cry stands for uncontrollable feelings or pain where the dreamer discharge accumulated feelings that saddened by events in the past, or afraid to embrace the future, or releasing emotions that the dreamer have either denied or suppressed for some reason. Cry in dreams builds often from inner tensions, stress and emotional pain especially if you cannot cry in the waking life. It could be something or someone that you need to deal with before you can move on, or a situation or person, in your waking life, that is the cause of intense emotional turmoil or that you are avoiding having to deal with. Thus, crying in dreams also traditionally indicates delight and big surprises after grief over a person you will soon forget.
========

Guess I’m really in tremendous emotional turmoil having seen the above Google information… Just hope that I don’t need another sleeping pills course ( the 4th course over the period of 1+ year ) to get rid of these emotional sickness.

My Primary Schoolmate, William Foo’s Wedding @ 14/10/2012

Attended to my primary 6M schoolmate, William Foo’s wedding dinner at Ah Yat Abalone Seafood Restaurant Live Centre, KL last weekend.

William was a fatty classmate and also school bus mate of mine who I still keep in touch with since we graduated ages ago. I can still clearly remember that we both used to fight and argue in bus when we were in primary 6 because his brother always bullies my sister in the bus. William was of a bigger body build and I was just a skinny girl, but to my surprise, I’m always the winner of all the fights / arguments. Until… William can even remember that I bite him before in one of our fight. Perhaps, this is just exactly what the Chinese said “no fight no knew ( 不打不相识 )” where we then turn to good friend in later days. Oh gosh~ I’m getting old recalling those old schooldays stories duh… Adding to that, I also found out that William is also a good friend of my childhood neighbor, CheeKin a day before his wedding when we gathered at his bachelor night meet up. Also thank to that, I got a free ride from my good neighbor to the dinner. Hehe… : P

Back to the wedding, William did an extraordinary wedding intro projecting his Bersih 3.0 videos clips compilation that got majority of attendees buy-in. It was lucky that I didn’t wore my yellow dress when William told me the theme of the night is yellow a night before. Phew~ Oya, William is one of the key voluntary lawyer in Bersih 3.0 and that is why the floor has given him a round of applause after the projected video clips end. As part of disclaimer, those projected video clips have nothing to do with the wedding reception of the night.

Overall, we had a good primary gathering on that night having old schoolmates around the table. We shared and catch up with each other updating our current happenings. It was indeed a happy get together time thanks to William’s wedding reception. Wish you both a wonderful marriage, William & Agnes.

I'll Back Off, So U Can Live Better @ 8/10/2012

Saw this [ I'll Back Off, So U Can Live Better ] post in sweetie SH’s blog today…

It was the lyrics of a Korean song which I don’t know what the song’s title is but I do felt the pain when I read it through. Towards the end of the song / lyrics, I found the same naïve thought and forever unanswerable questions that I’ve in my mind or asked myself before and still… as of todate.

……
(You) were the reason for my life
(You) were all I wanted
(You) were the only person I looked at

(Why) are you leaving me
(Why) are you abandoning me
If it was going to end like this, why did you love me?

Maybe one day you will remember the day we first met
I still remember the promise you made
That you adore me, protect me, and only love me
I believed you. I believed those lies. I believed them all.
……

I’m still broken…~

八月十五月圆日, 伤心无奈泪中秋;
疲累渡日两个秋, 思念依然在远方;
昔日所言实为谎, 原来早已另作伴;

SPSB Hari Raya Celebration ’12 @ 10/9/2012

SPSB had its staff Raya Celebration at Setia City Park Oval Lawn last 2 weeks. As usual, all Klang Valley staffs were permitted to off and leave office an hour / two earlier to attend the event subject to respective office location.

I reached SCM about the same time with few of my colleagues, Mdm Lai, Ann & Jacky and took a photo together at the entrance as evidence of attendance. It is always good to have and attended to this kind of company event because it gave us an avenue to mingled around and catch up with colleagues from other business units before the event started.

We had a happy and enjoyable dinner watching our colleagues’ performance and best dress competition with laughter around. : )

Runaway Trip to Batam, Indonesia @ 30/8 ~ 2/9/2012

Runaway to Batam Island, Indonesia with my buddy girl friends, Liching, Chloe & Huiling last month end. It was an early planned trip since buddy Liching wedding a year before as a surprise birthday visit to her. Separately, we arrived S’pore a day earlier to meet up with Liching for a day out. Liching first drove us to have our late lunch at Whampoa Makan Place, Novena where we have tasted most of the local food within the food court to fulfill our taste bud and stomach grunt.

We went to ride the Singapore Flyer, Raffles Avenue after lunch, the world's tallest observation wheel to catch the magnificent cityscape with the view of Singapore's iconic and historical landmarks from the height of 165m. We also went to catch the Ducktours, hop-on to a amphibious craft for an hour-long land and sea sightseeing tour that further brought us up close to Singapore's famous skyline, historical landmarks and gorgeous bay view.

After both the breathtaking experience, John made his way to meet us at Singapore Food Trail ( 新加坡路边摊 ) for dessert and drove us to Hard Rock, S’pore for Chloe to express her shopping needs before he further brought us to have a tasteful delicious Japanese dinner. Thereafter, we went for drink at Fremantle Seafood Market, Clarke Quay before we were sent back to V Hotel, Lavender for rest.

We woke up early next morning and gather with Liching at Harbour Front Cruise Terminal for our departure to Batam Island. It took us about an hour from S’pore to Sekupang Ferry Terminal, Batam Island where we were then picked up by the assigned tour guide to commence our trip. We were brought to visit the largest Chinese temple in Batam - the Maha Vihara Duta Maitreya Buddhist Temple for prayer, had our buffet lunch at Restaurant Sari Bumbu for a taste of Indonesia food, shop around few brand outlets, relaxing massage and an hour shopping at BCS Shopping Mall, Nagoya City before we were sent to check-in at The BCC Hotel & Residence within walking distance for refresh break.

At night, we were picked up to have our dinner at Wey Wey Live Seafood Restaurant, Harbourbay where, to my opinion, their food was just so-so at reasonable price unlike those highly complimented review found in Internet. We then had our girl gathering in one of our room after shower before we called the night off. Next day, we had our breakfast at the hotel, checked-out the hotel after we took our morning shower and made a short walk to BCS Shopping Mall for some final grabs before we were sent off from the 2D1N Batam Trip.

We reached S’pore in the evening, checked-in V Hotel Lavender and immediate went for our local dinner at the open-air Newton Circus Food Court, Clemenceau Ave North whilst Huiling went to visit her aunt. After dinner, we meet up with Huiling and headed to Ben & Jerry’s Dempsey Hill for salivary dropping ice-cream as dessert of the night before we ended the day. We bid goodbye the next day after we had our breakfast nearby and checked-out the hotel. Well~ It was a good outing overall, hope we able to arrange another short trip or, another S’pore trip to visit buddy Liching soon.

Hey

Hey

Hey

Gathering & Party In The USS @ 4/8/2012

I extend my stay in Singapore after the 2 days Ritz-Carlton 5-Star Service Excellent Training program to pay my buddy Liching & Meilee a visit separately. I took the MRT to meet up with buddy Liching for dinner at City Hall, Raffles Place soon after the training finished. We had a good time catching up with each other and discussed about our upcoming trip despite that the hard time to find a dining place due to the peak hour and lost while we were on the way back.

After bid goodbye to Liching, I took the MRT to meet up with another buddy of mine, Meilee at Yishun. Both Meilee & Karfai picked me up at the control station and leaded me to their house where I can then take a shower to settle myself for rest. We had a good night long chat after we didn’t see each other for almost a year+ since she has moved to Singapore a year+ ago. From work to personal, from personal to relationship, it is just too much for us to catch up, we only later then realized that it is almost 2am in the morning. We then continued our chat topics whilst we were on the bed until we were signal off.

It’s 4/8… Woke up and refreshed myself to get ready for our visit to Universal Studio Singapore ( USS ). We had our local breakfast near to Meilee’s house before we took MRT to Harbour Front to meet up with another friend of mine, TH who took the trouble to catch up and accompany me to USS. USS was crowded in due to weekend but still fine to pay a visit if one doesn’t mind queue at least 45min for an attraction. We first experienced the Lights! Camera! Action! Hosted by Steven Spielberg in New York zone, we admired the incredible special effects where an empty soundstage with calm day setting suddenly turns into a stormy setting of a Category 5 major hurricane that about to hit the New York City which is then returns and restores itself.

The first ride we went was the Battlestar Galactica: Human vs. Cylon in Sci-Fi City, I was conned by TH to queue the Cylon blue inverted ( legs-free ) roller coaster instead of the Human red traditional seated ones. It was too late to regret because we had queued for almost 30min, so I can only proceed to ride the Cylon under a drizzling rain. Yes! It’s raining… where I ought to buy a raincoat to continue my exploration.

I then queued for almost 90min+ for the Revenge of the Mummy Coaster Ride alone which TH had tried before in Ancient Egypt zone. It was even more horrify ride than the legs-free Battlestar Galactica: Cylon ride to me, because of the dark indoor surrounding and one of its sudden reverse tracks. No wonder TH refused to accompany me for this ride… >.<

Rain came again while we were having our lunch break at Discovery Food Court in Jurassic Park / The Lost World zone. While the rain eases a little, we continued to ride the windy Canopy Flyer at Jurassic Park zone. In view of the long queue experience in previous ride, we were smarter now to take the single rider queue instead of the ordinary group queue. The line was way much faster as we only waited for less than 30min to get our turn.

After the windy fly, we watched the WaterWorld Stunt Show at The Lost World zone, a sensational live water show that witnessed a tidal wave of death-defying stunts, along with thrills and spills from real explosions of fire and water. Warning! Always chose to sit right back in the middle instead in front of seating arena to avoid being wet, the show was good in audience involving and interaction. We also experienced the Shrek 4-D Adventure in Far Far Away where we able to see, hear and actually feel the action right from our seat via the miracle OrgreVision lens. Then, we also took the opportunity to snap some photos with Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe & Gloria the hippo as we walked towards the Madagascar zone.

We then returned for our last ride of the day, Transformers The Ride: The Ultimate 3D Battle in Sci-Fi City which was early omitted due to technical problem. As strategized, we queued the single rider line that only took us about 30min of waiting time instead of 105min as claimed by the group of riders that share the same new Autobot known as EVAC with me. EVAC carried the riders into the center of a 4min battle between the human-friendly Autobots and the evil Decepticons, zipping through the subway tunnels, city streets and across high-rise rooftops through a variety of simulator and 3D effects as the riders volunteered to save the planet together with Optimus Prime and the Autobots.

Last, we also waited and watched the parade. Though the parade was not as lengthy as compared with the one in Disney Land HK but it’s still worth to watch because of a different experience and different characters. We left Sentosa Island about 9pm and ended the day having dinner at Food Republic, Vivo City Harbour Front before we bid goodbye to TH and headed home to Meilee’s place for a good rest after a tiring day out… zzZ~

...... There gone my weekend in Singapore after I had tea break with TH the next day at Fruit Paradise Café, Vivocity before departure to KL.

5* Service Excellent Training At Ritz-Carlton, S’pore @ 2 & 3/8/2012

A group of 60 SP staff were flown to Singapore 2 weeks ago attended to a 5-Star Service Excellent Training Program and experienced the 5-Star services at the remarkable Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore. The objectives of the team being sent over is to benchmark against the best practice company and learn the best from the best world recognized company.

We didn’t start the training program immediate on the first day of arrival. Instead, we were picked up by our friendly Singapore team members for a lunch buffet and at the same time, visited the tastefully designed show units at their new 18 Woodsville Sales Gallery, Patong Pasir. We then were brought to visit the latest Singapore’s attraction, Garden by the Bay at Marina Bay. We were later then transported back to check-in Ritz-Carlton (RC) and enjoyed sumptuous dinner buffet at RC after a short rest / quick shower.

We were leaded to visit the famous Marina Bay Sand Hotel for a night outing at the top of the hotel after dinner. There, we enjoyed our drink treats next to the roof top infinity swimming pool with amazing night view and skyline. After a night out and good rest on super comfortable bed, I woke up slightly late in the morning forgoing my buffet breakfast and rushed myself to attend the training. We were fortunate to have Alexandra Valentin, the Corporate Director from the Leadership Center of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company as our trainer to share the power of cultural transformation. It was a very fruitful training indeed, we have learnt the Ritz-Carlton (RC) Gold Standard, the 5 Leadership Principles and their exceptional customer service philosophy and orientation. Besides, we were also amazed by the employee panel session that shows how RC ladies and gentlemen fulfilled our unexpressed needs, their commitment in daily line up and their belief in RC service philosophy.

We debriefed and called the training session off on time to rush the flights. With that, we also have in mind that we were required to pay our full commitment in coming assignment to generate valuable ideas and establish Setia’s 5-Star Standard. Haiz…

R.I.P Barkly Boy… @ 31/7/2012

It was a sad day to my family as we found our big house dog had finally decided let go himself when sis Karen banged our bedroom door early in the morning…. Barkly boy was with us since he was a puppy where sis Karen bought him back from a pet shop around Petaling Street. Although Barkly wasn’t a pure breed and without certificate but we still love him very much. He was such a cute little puppy that braves enough to jump / felt himself down when we put him high on top of a basket that used to be his bed.

As time goes by, Barkly became smarter and smarter. He guarded our house responsibly whenever there is a stranger walks near to our house gate, welcome and make sure we were safely entered our house boundaries if so happens that he is off from his lash. Besides, Barkly boy remains positive even though he knew he was abandoned for a certain period when sis Karen moved out from our house and was not by his side. He was truly a positive and strong boy when he was first diagnosed with lymphoma cancer about 1 month ago. Pity him not only had to go through all sorts of scanning and diagnosis, he even had to blindly suffer from neuter surgery as advised by the vet that may ease his illness but not at the end. Aside, we sensed that he felt embarrassed as he gets weaker and weaker day by day where he no longer able to guard our house, no longer able to walk and eat… till we have to take care of him in reverse. We also felt that Barkly boy forced himself to stay alive despite that he was actually deeply suffer because he worried nobody else could guard us if he left due to both his brothers were toy dog species. We felt the sorrow and take turn to talk to him the night before we plan to euthanize him the next day. We told him that he has gave his very best and we are proud of him, told him not to worry about us as we will be fine, asking him to hint us / let go if he no longer able to stand the deep suffer. Barkly boy eventually waited each of us to got home and talked to him the night before he left… I can clearly remembered that I still able to observe him breathing in a very slow pace before I went to bed 3am+ in the morning just to make sure Barkly boy is still fine. However… :’(

We believed that Barkly boy doesn’t wish to see us in making the difficult euthanize decision and at the same time, doesn’t wish us to sadly see him leaving. Therefore, he had chosen to let go himself quietly in dawn. We made all the afterlife arrangement, cremated his body the next day and brought back his ashes with us at home few days later.

My heartfelt last word… You have never failed to perform your duty & bring laughter to our life… We are proud to have you for the past 11+ years. You will definitely be remembered…
Rest in peace, Barkly… With love~

A-Lin

B’day Meal Treat At Pandai Seafood, Ara Damansara @ 1/7/2012

Hm~ My birthday usually reminds me my unhappiness in life… Besides than the passed away of my idol back in 19 years ago, it also reminded me the parted of my thought husband-to-be. Therefore, I hardly initiate to celebrate my birthday. Likewise, I did not celebrate my birthday this year except given myself a visit to the historical state of Melaka to have their famous chicken rice ball that particular weekend.

Thanks to my buddy course mate, Mich who arranged me a sumptuous seafood meal treats at Pantai Seafood Restaurant ( 水上人家 ), Ara Damansara. It was an enjoyable dinner with good food, good friends surrounding the table and good chat till we even plan for our next makan gathering venue. Last but no least, we had the surprising Baskin Robin’s Ice Cream Cake as dessert before called off the day of course. Thank you all again for the day… Hehe~ : D

Craving For Melaka Chicken Rice Ball @ 30/6/2012

Lately, I’m craving for chicken rice ball ( 鸡粒饭 )… after 3 years since my last visit. In view of that, I headed down to Melaka just for the sick of their famous chicken rice ball and food hunt at Jonker Street ( 鸡场街 ) with one of my friend being forced to accompany me.  There was nothing much change in Jonker Street except some addition decoration on the road entrance statement. We tried most, if not all of the famous stalls from chicken rice ball to cendol, from snacks to homemade ice cream eggs... It was indeed a great day out with my friend that managed to cheer me up after my emotional disturbance days ago. Thank you for cheering up my day… : )

MLTR Live ’12 at Setia City Park @ 23/6/2012

Helped out my buddy colleague, Cheng to duty for Michael Learn To Rock ( MLTR ) Concert right after the grand opening of Setia City Mall in the morning as agreed.

I reported myself for duty after a quick shower on the day. We then were transported to Setia City Park ( SCP ) to complete some final setting arrangement once the briefing is done. We separate the workload and immediate started our work to distribute goodies bag on each VIP seats. Unfortunately, weather doesn’t side on us when we were almost finished our final preparation. We then, quickly collect back all goodies bag and gathered at the stage area to avoid further wet ourselves. Thunder storm arrived, all of us felt disappointed at the stage seeing all our hard work gone in just a split second. However, the heavy rain doesn’t shower away our team spirit, we motivated ourselves and enjoyed ourselves at the stage area while waiting for the rain to ease.

Once the rain stopped, we immediate resume our work with extra effort given to wipe dry the approximate 10,000 extremely wet chairs in due to SP good service value. We auto-piloted and segregated the task initiatively with some of us wiping dry the chairs and some re-distributing the cheering sticks or goodies bags whilst the crowd has already fully queue to enter the venue. The concert started off smoothly with everyone’s hard work towards their roles & responsibilities of the night. Nevertheless, we also did enjoy ourselves throughout the concert especially when closes to finishing encore part where the team forms a human lighting backdrop next to the center stage.

We were glad that the event ends well finally. As for me… my two big toes were badly injured with internal bleeding because of inappropriate shoe size and overstrained walk perhaps. Guess it will take years to have my poor toes recover duh~

Grand Opening of Setia City Mall @ 23/6/2012

SP rushed its tailor-made corporate batik into cheongsam and sarees other than the usual kebarung design in conjunction to the grand opening of SP first shopping mall, Setia City Mall ( SCM ) @ Setia Alam. The mall located in Precinct 1, the heart of Setia Alam with approximate 240 shop lots fully tenanted successfully prior to its opening including few anchor tenant such as exercising Fitness First, retailing Parkson, entertaining GSC, opening soon fashionable H&M etc.

I’m one of the nominated owner of custom tailor-made cheongsam batik that participated in the opening of SCM, which surely the pride of Team Setia ( SP management & staff ) that will be one of the iconic development of SP within Setia Alam township. How can we be sure of? The market price of Setia Alam properties has been rising since the construction of SCM and now, hiked up to an even higher percentage upon its completion compared to when the township was started and still rising lor…

My extremely sad mood and feeling upon the afterthought of a wedding reception…
……

Afterthought Of A Wedding Reception @ 10/6/2012

Seems that June ’12 is a very good month to get married… I drove all the way up to north with my family and attended to another wedding ceremony yesterday morning followed by dinner reception at SLHF ( San Lei Hau Fook ) Restaurant Ipoh. It was nothing special, just the wedding of my cousin brother, Jixian. But… I had a miserable feeling throughout the reception night

It was not something not right with my cousin brother’s dinner arrangement, but the restaurant itself. It was not something not right with the restaurant or food, but my feeling towards the restaurant itself… Restaurant that I had the first father’s day dinner with my thought going-to-be father & family in-law after my beloved dad left for many years, restaurant that once I thought mostly will be the chosen restaurant of me & my love one’s big day… but no longer are. Once again, my heart was sadden with tearing eyes during my sleep after the second round family drink at the Sky Lounge, MH Hotel, Ipoh.

My Travel Buddy, Janice Chang’s Wedding @ 9/6/2012

Attended to my travel buddy, JaniceC’s wedding few days ago. JaniceC is one of my early Y2010 Bangkok trip travel buddy who we still keep in touch with each other until todate. Apparently, we are not only travel buddy, we also found out later that we are somehow related to one another where, she is my close cousin bro in-law’s cousin. What a small world…

She has been occasionally sharing her cherish moment of her love relationship with YW, especially from those sweet couple photos that romantic YW tagged her. Can really see how loving this couple is… I’m happy that she managed to meet her Mr. Right, YW about year later after our one and only trip together and finally tied the knot. Last but not least, wish JC & YW a wonderful marriage life till the end of the road.

Note:~ You may need to stop the background player at the bottom of right navigation bar.

Jacky Cheung’s 1/2 Century Live Concert @ 12/5/2012

Tagged my buddy, Nixon & his girlfriend Jess to bought, and went to Jacky Cheung 1/2 Century Live Concert ( 张学友1/2 世纪演唱会 ) at Stadium Merdeka last Saturday. We reached the area slightly earlier to meet up with Kenny + Sharon, other friends of Nixon and had a fast food standing dinner before we head up to the stadium.

There was really crowded at the stadium area where all people were there waiting for admission time. However, the organizer did a bad job and delayed the entry time. What make it more worst was, the entry was really slow with tedious but not necessary checking procedure at the narrow entry point despite that show time is already on the dot. After all shouting and complaining from the crowd, the organizer finally ease their checking procedure and let the audience to enter the stadium one followed by another. The venue was wet and soggy after the afternoon rain, we have to walk tip toed and wiped our seats to settled down.

The show finally started after a long wait. Jacky was truly energy high that night. He sang for almost 4 hours, performing his old and new songs on the spectacle stage that can almost rotate in 360 degree angle. As usual, Jacky hardly disappoint his fans / supporters at any of his concert show, where I enjoyed very much except… my tears dropped uncontrollably during few of his love song numbers. Why? Because Jacky’s numbers make me recalled someone and awaked my broken heart that is still not recover. It was indeed a value worth & superb performance overall.

8D7N Sipadan Island Diving Trip @ 2/5~9/5/2012

Yes~ Sipadan Island… Here I come!

I’ve been wishing to visit the World’s top fascinating dive spot located in the Celebes Sea since I was certified to dive ages ago. This oceanic island is well-known as one of the richest marine habitats formed by living corals growing on top of an extinct volcanic cone that took thousands years to develop of which, it is certainly require a good / quality dive skill to explore. Therefore, I have put the plan on hold due to no companion and my half-pail-water dive skills that could jeopardize the beautiful marine nature. I’m fortunate that few of my travel buddies decided to take up OWD certification course at Sipadan Island lately, that I could finally have dive companions to dive this beautiful island.

Day 1
6 of us woke up at Nixon’s place early the morning, headed to LCCT to meet up with GN and together, a group of 7 of us flew to Sabah, The Land Below The Wind to begin our dive journey. We were picked up and transported to Semporna for lunch before the boat transfer to Mabul Island.
As soon as we arrived and checked-in to Uncle Chang Dive Lodge, we were introduced to meet the Diving Instructor, bro Fatt ( 发哥 ) where Nixon + Jess + Mich + NL & TH commenced their OWD course there and then with DVD watching, soon after they completed the forms filling and course introduction. GN & I also joined the group to recap what we have previously learnt.

Day 2
Whilst some of them are doing their first OWD open water training, myself & GN registered our 1st dive of the trip, a refresher dive at House Reef, Mabul. Under the normal visibility, we saw flamboyant cuttlefish, stone fish resting at the bottom sand of rack house and sea turtle. With the assistance of DM, I stayed right in front of the sea turtle face to face which is just 1ft away. We logged a bottom time of 41min with max depth of 13.8m.

Mich & Jess returned much earlier than the guys, unable to continue their OWD open water because of their uncomfortable breathing beneath the sea level and injured ankle while the guys enjoyed their first dive attempt

Day 3
GN & I took a day off due to the unavailability of our DM that probably over drunk and hanged over almost the whole day. It thus, gave us some time to rest, explore the resort surrondings and enjoys the serenity with books reading.

Nixon forgoes his OWD course in view of his uneasy equalization early today, left only NL & TH who is still doing well in their open water dives.

Day 4
While NL & TH were out for their open water dive test, GN & I did our 2nd dive of the trip at Lobster Wall, Mabul. Under the normal visibility with 39min bottom time and max depth of 22.6m, we managed to bumped up with 3x sea turtles, stone fish, blue & orange nudibranch and boxfish. We were of the opinion that the site could be better if the weather is sunny bright as how our DM of the day commented

We had our next dive at House Reef, Kapalai. It’s a wreck dive site that allowed divers to experience wreck diving with several artificial wrecks and houses that conserve various sea creatures. I recorded a max depth of 19.7m with 29min bottom time and returned to resort with 120 bar left. At the same time, TH & NL were also passed their open water dive test and proceed with their theory test in the afternoon. All of us witnessed TH & NL completed their paper test and completely passed the OWD certification.

Day 5
In view of my poor dive skill, NL & TH’s DI ( bro Fatt 发哥 ) offered me a PPB ( Peak Performance Buoyancy ) dive check early the morning. It seems that I’m not that bad according to bro Fatt’s comment after the PPB dive check, but I do need more and more practices to polish my dive skill because I will somehow lost control in the middle of dive out of nowhere. More dives could make me understand my skills level so that I can have smooth and better dive control.

GN + NL + TH & I had our 1st dive together after both TH & NL being certified. We had our dive at Paradise 2, Mabul. Our DM observed mild current, so he advised us to do drift dive and stay by his side at approximate 15 / 16m. It was fine at first but the current gets stronger and stronger where we were unable to stay focus at one point even with strong kicks. Our DM immediately gathered TH + NL & I myself to hold on to coral stone to prevent further drifted away. He instructed us to stay holding on whilst he drifted himself away to find GN who has lost in sight. The visibility get worsen with only less than 1m sight and the current gets even stronger until we no longer able to hold on to the coral. I managed to check my dive computer that shows at 5m depth and signaled my buddies to perform 3min safety stop for ascend before I’m being further drifted away. We were all separated with emergency ascend that recorded 26min bottom time at max depth of 15.4m without proper safety stop. We were fortunate and glad that all of us were safely picked up by our boatman separately. No doubt it was a shocked dive but a good dive experience. Our DM complimented us indirectly that luckily we all knew how to survive ourselves without him because this was also his first experience at this known mild current dive site.

Day 6
We began our Sipadan Island journey under the drizzling rain. The 1st dive site we went was South Point where, the visibility was just normal due to rainy day. Despite that the not so good weather, it was still a pretty good dive as we able to saw sharks not far from us at top right bottom, dive within school of jackfish and along with school of bumped head fish.

After lunch, we had our 2nd dive at Barracuda Point. With the max dept of 18.6m and 26min bottom time spent, we saw school of jackfish, 2x sea turtle, another school of bumped head fish as well as barracudas even though the weather was getting bad with poor visibility.

Our 3rd dive was Turtle Cave at max dept of 19.9m. However, I failed to stay at the bottom due to my hair-wired out of control buoyancy once I got out from the cave entrance. I kept ascend no matter how hard I tried to exhale as much as I can. DM directed me to give up the dive and complete ascend to surface with his help letting go oxygen bubbles from 20m down the sea level. Oh no~ I’m so embarrassed… : (

Day 7
Nixon, Jess & Mich decided to forgo their Mataking Island trip, left only 4 of us remain. I didn’t join the guys for the 1st dive of the day due to the phobia from yesterday’s 3rd dive incident without safety stop. I later then regretted because the guys claimed the dive site was beautiful and nicer than Sipadan Island probably due to sunny bright weather. : (

Started of my dive after boat lunch with the guys, for their 2nd dive at Jalan-Jalan, Timba-Timba Island The dive site visibility was good, we spent 41min bottom time with max dept of 21.3m. We observed several different colored nudibranch ( black, white orange, yellowish etc ), sea turtles, very tiny transparent boxing shrimp and small red brownish octopus.

My last dive of the trip was Black Coral, Kelapuan Island. Though the visibility was normal, but we only managed to saw a few sea slugs ( nudibranch ) with 42min bottom time spent at 17.6m max depth, a little disappointed to end our dive trip like this.

Day 8
We packed our belongings slowly after breakfast, enjoyed and amazed the resort surrounding one more time after we placed our backpack at the reception counter. We then had our lunch, continued our relaxing time and catch up with new friends we have made during the trip while waiting for our boat transfer. We reached Semporna jetty around evening and land transferred to Tawau airport for departure flight.

We enjoyed our holiday especially with good and cheap seafood that we can easily bought every morning directly from villagers’ catches till we do felt a little reluctant to head back home for work. Last, I would like to thank all my dive buddies especially GN for tolerating my half-pail-water dive skills.
