SPSB Hari Raya Celebration ’12 @ 10/9/2012

SPSB had its staff Raya Celebration at Setia City Park Oval Lawn last 2 weeks. As usual, all Klang Valley staffs were permitted to off and leave office an hour / two earlier to attend the event subject to respective office location.

I reached SCM about the same time with few of my colleagues, Mdm Lai, Ann & Jacky and took a photo together at the entrance as evidence of attendance. It is always good to have and attended to this kind of company event because it gave us an avenue to mingled around and catch up with colleagues from other business units before the event started.

We had a happy and enjoyable dinner watching our colleagues’ performance and best dress competition with laughter around. : )

Runaway Trip to Batam, Indonesia @ 30/8 ~ 2/9/2012

Runaway to Batam Island, Indonesia with my buddy girl friends, Liching, Chloe & Huiling last month end. It was an early planned trip since buddy Liching wedding a year before as a surprise birthday visit to her. Separately, we arrived S’pore a day earlier to meet up with Liching for a day out. Liching first drove us to have our late lunch at Whampoa Makan Place, Novena where we have tasted most of the local food within the food court to fulfill our taste bud and stomach grunt.

We went to ride the Singapore Flyer, Raffles Avenue after lunch, the world's tallest observation wheel to catch the magnificent cityscape with the view of Singapore's iconic and historical landmarks from the height of 165m. We also went to catch the Ducktours, hop-on to a amphibious craft for an hour-long land and sea sightseeing tour that further brought us up close to Singapore's famous skyline, historical landmarks and gorgeous bay view.

After both the breathtaking experience, John made his way to meet us at Singapore Food Trail ( 新加坡路边摊 ) for dessert and drove us to Hard Rock, S’pore for Chloe to express her shopping needs before he further brought us to have a tasteful delicious Japanese dinner. Thereafter, we went for drink at Fremantle Seafood Market, Clarke Quay before we were sent back to V Hotel, Lavender for rest.

We woke up early next morning and gather with Liching at Harbour Front Cruise Terminal for our departure to Batam Island. It took us about an hour from S’pore to Sekupang Ferry Terminal, Batam Island where we were then picked up by the assigned tour guide to commence our trip. We were brought to visit the largest Chinese temple in Batam - the Maha Vihara Duta Maitreya Buddhist Temple for prayer, had our buffet lunch at Restaurant Sari Bumbu for a taste of Indonesia food, shop around few brand outlets, relaxing massage and an hour shopping at BCS Shopping Mall, Nagoya City before we were sent to check-in at The BCC Hotel & Residence within walking distance for refresh break.

At night, we were picked up to have our dinner at Wey Wey Live Seafood Restaurant, Harbourbay where, to my opinion, their food was just so-so at reasonable price unlike those highly complimented review found in Internet. We then had our girl gathering in one of our room after shower before we called the night off. Next day, we had our breakfast at the hotel, checked-out the hotel after we took our morning shower and made a short walk to BCS Shopping Mall for some final grabs before we were sent off from the 2D1N Batam Trip.

We reached S’pore in the evening, checked-in V Hotel Lavender and immediate went for our local dinner at the open-air Newton Circus Food Court, Clemenceau Ave North whilst Huiling went to visit her aunt. After dinner, we meet up with Huiling and headed to Ben & Jerry’s Dempsey Hill for salivary dropping ice-cream as dessert of the night before we ended the day. We bid goodbye the next day after we had our breakfast nearby and checked-out the hotel. Well~ It was a good outing overall, hope we able to arrange another short trip or, another S’pore trip to visit buddy Liching soon.

Hey

Hey

Hey

Gathering & Party In The USS @ 4/8/2012

I extend my stay in Singapore after the 2 days Ritz-Carlton 5-Star Service Excellent Training program to pay my buddy Liching & Meilee a visit separately. I took the MRT to meet up with buddy Liching for dinner at City Hall, Raffles Place soon after the training finished. We had a good time catching up with each other and discussed about our upcoming trip despite that the hard time to find a dining place due to the peak hour and lost while we were on the way back.

After bid goodbye to Liching, I took the MRT to meet up with another buddy of mine, Meilee at Yishun. Both Meilee & Karfai picked me up at the control station and leaded me to their house where I can then take a shower to settle myself for rest. We had a good night long chat after we didn’t see each other for almost a year+ since she has moved to Singapore a year+ ago. From work to personal, from personal to relationship, it is just too much for us to catch up, we only later then realized that it is almost 2am in the morning. We then continued our chat topics whilst we were on the bed until we were signal off.

It’s 4/8… Woke up and refreshed myself to get ready for our visit to Universal Studio Singapore ( USS ). We had our local breakfast near to Meilee’s house before we took MRT to Harbour Front to meet up with another friend of mine, TH who took the trouble to catch up and accompany me to USS. USS was crowded in due to weekend but still fine to pay a visit if one doesn’t mind queue at least 45min for an attraction. We first experienced the Lights! Camera! Action! Hosted by Steven Spielberg in New York zone, we admired the incredible special effects where an empty soundstage with calm day setting suddenly turns into a stormy setting of a Category 5 major hurricane that about to hit the New York City which is then returns and restores itself.

The first ride we went was the Battlestar Galactica: Human vs. Cylon in Sci-Fi City, I was conned by TH to queue the Cylon blue inverted ( legs-free ) roller coaster instead of the Human red traditional seated ones. It was too late to regret because we had queued for almost 30min, so I can only proceed to ride the Cylon under a drizzling rain. Yes! It’s raining… where I ought to buy a raincoat to continue my exploration.

I then queued for almost 90min+ for the Revenge of the Mummy Coaster Ride alone which TH had tried before in Ancient Egypt zone. It was even more horrify ride than the legs-free Battlestar Galactica: Cylon ride to me, because of the dark indoor surrounding and one of its sudden reverse tracks. No wonder TH refused to accompany me for this ride… >.<

Rain came again while we were having our lunch break at Discovery Food Court in Jurassic Park / The Lost World zone. While the rain eases a little, we continued to ride the windy Canopy Flyer at Jurassic Park zone. In view of the long queue experience in previous ride, we were smarter now to take the single rider queue instead of the ordinary group queue. The line was way much faster as we only waited for less than 30min to get our turn.

After the windy fly, we watched the WaterWorld Stunt Show at The Lost World zone, a sensational live water show that witnessed a tidal wave of death-defying stunts, along with thrills and spills from real explosions of fire and water. Warning! Always chose to sit right back in the middle instead in front of seating arena to avoid being wet, the show was good in audience involving and interaction. We also experienced the Shrek 4-D Adventure in Far Far Away where we able to see, hear and actually feel the action right from our seat via the miracle OrgreVision lens. Then, we also took the opportunity to snap some photos with Alex the lion, Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe & Gloria the hippo as we walked towards the Madagascar zone.

We then returned for our last ride of the day, Transformers The Ride: The Ultimate 3D Battle in Sci-Fi City which was early omitted due to technical problem. As strategized, we queued the single rider line that only took us about 30min of waiting time instead of 105min as claimed by the group of riders that share the same new Autobot known as EVAC with me. EVAC carried the riders into the center of a 4min battle between the human-friendly Autobots and the evil Decepticons, zipping through the subway tunnels, city streets and across high-rise rooftops through a variety of simulator and 3D effects as the riders volunteered to save the planet together with Optimus Prime and the Autobots.

Last, we also waited and watched the parade. Though the parade was not as lengthy as compared with the one in Disney Land HK but it’s still worth to watch because of a different experience and different characters. We left Sentosa Island about 9pm and ended the day having dinner at Food Republic, Vivo City Harbour Front before we bid goodbye to TH and headed home to Meilee’s place for a good rest after a tiring day out… zzZ~

...... There gone my weekend in Singapore after I had tea break with TH the next day at Fruit Paradise Café, Vivocity before departure to KL.
